Laura's Story
Laura Boal is a Christian author and speaker based in Atlanta, Georgia, where she and her husband serve as deacons at Northlands Church. She holds degrees from Oral Roberts University (Communication Arts) and Georgia State University (MBA).
Laura has worked as an accountant and data analyst, as a mural artist, and as a stay-at-home Mom. She loves spending time with her family—she and Bob have three grown children and two grandchildren, as well as seven international exchange students who call them “Mom” and “Dad.” They love getting together with friends and family, eating good food, laughing together, and sharing stories with each other.
In 2013, Laura sustained a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. She thought her public life was essentially over because of the severe limitations she experienced. As she turned to God, however, she discovered comfort and joy that could not be contained.
Her current project is a book about just that topic—experiencing God’s love, a love that overwhelms us with joy, even in tough times.
In the middle of writing it, God dramatically healed Laura and all symptoms of the brain injury disappeared. “I’m still astonished,” she admits. “His goodness is overwhelming. Graham Cooke says there is only one way to live: astonished at the majesty of God. I think he’s got it exactly right.”
Laura’s passion is connecting others to the presence of God. “Each of us is his favorite!” she exclaims. “I love getting to share that good news.”
